Overview Download Prereleases

Download prerelease versions

Prerelease versions are builds from active development, published after significant bug fixes or when new features are added. They give you early access to what's coming and help us catch issues before a wider release. Please report anything you find!

Installing a prerelease version opts you into the prerelease update channel. You can switch back by installing a stable release or by changing the channel in the override configuration file for software_update.toml.

Little Snitch for Linux 1.1-pre4 (1010004)

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed rules for AppImage programs. If you created a rule for an app packaged as an AppImage, it may not have worked properly. These rules now function as expected.
  • Incoming connections no longer show domain names. Previously, an incoming connection could sometimes be mislabeled with a domain name due to a mix-up with cached lookup data. This has been fixed.
  • Fixed display of port-specific rules in connection list. Rules that were limited to a specific port weren't showing up in your connection list. Now they do.
  • Dark/light mode fixed in the web interface. The app's theme was sometimes showing the opposite of your system setting (dark when you wanted light, or vice versa). It now matches correctly.

Little Snitch for Linux 1.1-pre3 (1010003)

Compatibility Fix for Linux 7.1

A change in Linux 7.1 broke Little Snitch. This update works around that issue so the app runs correctly again on recent kernels.

Note: As a result of this fix, Little Snitch will take a bit longer to start up — roughly twice as long on Linux 6.12 and 7.1, and up to four times as long on Linux 7.0. Once it's running, everything should behave as normal.

Bug Fixes

  • Garbled icons in the Rules list: The column showing whether a rule applies to incoming or outgoing traffic was displaying raw code instead of the intended icon.
  • Port matching not working reliably: Rules targeting specific ports (e.g. "only allow traffic on port 443") sometimes failed to apply correctly.

Little Snitch for Linux 1.1-pre2 (1010002)

The main purpose of this release is to test the new software update notification. If you're running version 1.1-pre1 and came here via an update notification, everything is working as expected. If you were running 1.1-pre1 and did not see the notification within one day of release, please contact support (unless you have disabled software update checks).

Improvements

  • Fixed minor memory leaks.

Little Snitch for Linux 1.1-pre1 (1010001)

This version introduces a major new feature: automatic software update notifications. When a new version of Little Snitch becomes available, you will now be notified directly in the UI.

Because this feature involves more moving parts than it might appear to, we are rolling it out in a prerelease first. Installing this prerelease version will automatically switch you to the prerelease update channel, meaning you will receive notifications for prereleases only. Once this feature ships in a stable release, installing that stable version will return you to the stable channel.

We recognise that automatic update checks raise privacy concerns for some users. You can disable this feature by creating an empty file at:

/var/lib/littlesnitch/override/config/software_update.toml

If you do so, you can stay up to date by monitoring our download page or subscribing to GitHub releases instead.

The update behaviour can be fully customised by editing software_update.toml in the config override directory. This allows redistributors to point to alternative update channels or disable automatic update checks entirely.
