Manifesto

We assumed the following points were self-evident and required no further mention. However, after a well-known antivirus provider announced in October 2024 that they monitor their customers for signs of criminal activity, we feel compelled to clarify the following:

  • While our apps do process data that could provide insights into user behavior, this data is processed exclusively on-device and is never transmitted over the Internet.
  • Our apps process data solely for the benefit of the user. No benefit to Objective Development or third parties is ever pursued.
  • We operate under the assumption that our customers comply with the law and we do not see it as our responsibility to detect or report criminal activity to any authorities.

We believe other software vendors should make similar declarations, clearly stating what their apps may do. While the GDPR mandates transparency, it is evidently not sufficient. Even security experts failed to notice that their antivirus software had installed a rootkit to monitor their activity.
